Lip Sync Activity and Editing Execise

For preparation for the creation of our music video we had to perform a lip sync exercise. From this we found many things that would be heavily involved within the making of our music video. One was the editing as you can see the editing of our lip sync is down to a very basic level, being our first time in editing  a video. We thought it would be useful to to try and get a range of shots during our lip sync video. We had to consider this as the use of shots will be vitally important when trying to keep the viewers engaged in the video as well as what we do with them through the use of editing.
It also gave us the chance to use the editing program Final Cut Express on the Apple Mac's. I found it a struggle to begin with in using it but it was my first time to be fair and hopefully would find it less difficult in the future.
Later on I come to grips with it a bit more, learning how to import the footage as well export the video file into a Quicktime player file. I knew that I along with my group would have to learn more complex edits in order to film a more professional looking music video.
In the lip sync we were limited in terms of environment as we had the choice of inside a classroom or outside on a field so we made the most of the video having a good laugh by pretending to play instruments.
Obviously in the actual music video we are going to create we will choose appropriate background as well as costumes and props. We would also make sure that we include conventions of a music video which we did not stick to in our lip sync producing shots that last for ages where in the actual music video shots will last form 1-4 seconds. We have used this as a learning curve and preparation for our music video.
